What This Contact Does
This service is not a government office. It cannot confirm whether anyone is in custody, verify a release, obtain a record, correct a court file, accept a report, or give legal advice. Contact the responsible agency listed below for those matters. Call 911 for an emergency.
Sheriff and Jail Records
Wayne County Sheriff’s Office / Wayne County Jail
201 W. North Street
Wooster, OH 44691
Office: 330-287-5750
Emergency: 911

Use the Sheriff Records Request form for a particular existing report, booking record, or photograph if maintained and releasable. Include names, a narrow date range, and a known report or case number when available. The researched material does not give a fixed photo fee or response deadline, so ask Records for an estimate if cost may apply.
Court Records and Dockets
Wayne County Clerk / Legal Office and Wayne County Municipal Court
215 N. Grant Street
Wooster, OH 44691
330-287-5650
info@waynecourts.org
Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
For a later case status, use the Wayne court public-access search, then contact the Clerk when clarification or the original file is needed. The jail’s warrant instructions say that warrant information is not released by phone; use the docket, Clerk, or the jail’s stated in-person ID procedure.

A city incident or traffic record does not itself confirm a jail booking. Direct a focused request to the city agency that holds the report, and use the Sheriff and court routes only when they fit the custody or case question.
Other Official Lookups
Ohio VINE is the custody-notification channel for participating systems. ODRC Offender Search covers state prison and supervision records, not a recent Wayne County booking. BOP and ICE have separate federal and immigration locators. Each system controls its own information and should be contacted through its official website.
